Maricopa Stake Family Preparedness Fair

Saturday April 20th was the day for the Maricopa Stake Family Preparedness Fair.  It was a beautiful day which saw the Preparedness Fair attended by a relative small number of people.  The ones that did come learned some great ideas and heard some "inspired" mini-seminars as stated by our Stake President, President Lewis.  Below are some pictures of the booths at the Fair.

Six different kind of breads were at the Food Safety and Bread Making Booth for sampling.  They gave two loaves of home made whole wheat bread and a couple of loaves of Pumpkin and Zucchini bread to lucky winners.

The Maricopa Fire Department had their CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) booth where several people signed up to take the CERT training.
Outside in the Ramada was the alternative communications and power booth.  Lots of ham radio action going on.
Maricopa P.D. had a booth about home safety and fingerprinted lots of children.
The Spiritual Preparedness booth was manned by the full time Missionaries and members of the Maricopa 3rd Branch.
Cooking some Smores at the alternative cooking booth.
What do I do when the water is shut off?  The alternative drinking water booth had the answers.
The alternative shelter and fire booth had some great ideas to pass on.
The Maricopa Fire Department with the fire safety "booth".  The biggest booth there.
The First Aid booth had a lot of good ideas for being prepared in case of a first aid emergency.

Door prizes were given away during the day which consisted of donated items from Honeyville Farms which included a bag and a box of Chocolate Fudge Brownies and a bag and a box of Golden Scone Mix.

A big thanks to all who participated in the booths and those who came.
